Install ring (21) to shaft (16) .

Use the proper equipment in order to handle the carrier and the bearings. Heat seal carrier (19) and bearing (18) to a temperature of 149 °C (300 °F).
Install the seal carrier and the bearing onto shaft (16) .
Install two rings (20) onto seal carrier (19) .
Install rotor (17) to shaft (16) .

Attach Tooling (A) to shaft (16) .
Attach a suitable hoist and a suitable lifting chain to Tooling (A) .
Use the hoist in order to install shaft (16) into the torque converter.

Install O-ring seal (15) on stator carrier (14) .

Install lip seal (13) in retainer (12) .

Install the gasket and bearing retainer (12) .
Install seven bolts (11) . Tighten bolts (11) to a torque of 60 7 N m (45 5 lb ft).

Install O-ring (10) into yoke (8) .Note: Place a small amount of 1P-0808 Multipurpose Grease on the O-ring seal in order to hold the O-ring in place during assembly.

Install yoke (8) and retainer (9) .
Install bolt (7) onto shaft (16) . Tighten bolt (7) to a torque of 240 25 N m (175 20 lb ft).

Install two dowel pins (6) into housing assembly (3) .
Attach Tooling (B) to housing assembly (3) .
Attach a suitable hoist and lifting chains to Tooling (B) .
Use the hoist in order to install housing assembly (3) onto the torque converter assembly. The weight of housing assembly (3) is 127 kg (280 lb).

Install ten bolts (5) and the washers in housing assembly (3) .

Install three O-ring seals (4) in housing (1) .Note: Place a small amount of 1P-0808 Multipurpose Grease on the O-ring seals in order to hold the O-rings in place during assembly.

Install housing (1) onto housing assembly (3) .
Install three bolts (2) .End By:
Install the transmission oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission Oil Pump - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the torque converter outlet relief valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Relief Valve (Torque Converter Outlet) - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the modulating valve for the torque converter impeller clutch. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Modulating Valve (Torque Converter Impeller Clutch) - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the modulating valve for the torque converter lockup clutch. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Modulating Valve (Torque Converter Lockup Clutch) - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the torque converter. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Converter - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
