Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

Do not stand under the work tool when you are testing or adjusting the lift cylinders or the tilt cylinders.Do not stand under the lift arms when you are testing or adjusting the lift cylinders or the tilt cylinders.

Remove the bolts for the split flange at the hose connection. Remove the stem for hose (2) from the tube assembly (1). Install tooling (A) to tube assembly (1) for the rod end of tilt cylinder (4). Note: The rectangular seal should be positioned against the flange for tube assembly (1).
Place hose (2) into a suitable container.
Start the engine. Very slowly raise the bucket approximately 1 m (3.3 ft) above the ground. Return the control lever to the Hold position.
Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position.
Monitor the hose for the rod end of the tilt cylinder.
Check the cylinder rod for movement. See Table 2 for the drift rate. The cylinder drift should be within the specifications in the table.
