Installation Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Position gasket (4) in the groove that is machined on the back side of the water pump.
Position water pump (3). Install four bolts (2). Tighten four bolts (2) to a torque of 28 7 N m (21 5 lb ft).

Position water pump pulley (1) .
Fill the cooling system with coolant.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.End By:
Install the V-belts. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "V-Belts - Remove and Install" in this manual.
Install the fan assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan - Remove and Install" in this manual.
