The wheel path mapping of the compactor is dark gray when the lift thickness of the layer exceeds the configured maximum lift thickness. After taking corrective action to remediate this over-lift thickness, it is necessary for the operator to reset the thick lift map and return the map to the standard CCA mapping colors.

When installed, Cat Compaction Control for landfill compactors allows for mapping the progress of the compactors towards completed compaction. The Color Scale title (21) indicates to the operator that this screen is mapping CCA. When the wheel paths behind the Machine Icon (20) are green, the waste has reached adequate compaction.The color scale is not indicative of the number of passes rather an indication of compaction taking place. While the CCA is based on a four-pass pattern, the operator may notice no color change between passes and this is normal.

While using the CCA screen, the operator may notice that the wheel paths behind the machine icon are dark gray. This color indicates that the lift thickness of the layer of trash has exceeded the configured maximum lift thickness. The operator must remove a portion of the layer down to the acceptable lift thickness and then reset the "Thick Lift" map. This will be explained in the "Reset Thick Lift" section.Pass Count
