Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
Remove the diverter valve (torque converter and front brake cooling). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Diverter Valve (Torque Converter and Front Brake Cooling) - Remove". Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Position the diverter valve onto a suitable work bench.
Remove two bolts (2) and the washers. Remove air cylinder (3) and the O-ring seal from body (1).

Use a suitable screwdriver (not shown) in order to remove snap ring (7).
Remove head (6) from air cylinder (3).
Remove seal (9) from head (6).
Remove piston (5) from air cylinder (3).
Remove seal (4) and seal (8) from piston (5).

Remove lip seal (10) from head (6).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove plug (11) and O-ring seal (12) from body (1).
Remove spring (14) and stem (13) from body (1).
