A 1P-1855 Retaining Ring Pliers 1 Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble.
Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install O-ring seal (13) into base (1).

Install fluid sampling valve (12) and the O-ring seal onto base (1), as shown.

Install O-ring seal (11) onto bypass switch (8).
Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Install spring (9), plunger (10) and bypass switch (8) onto base (1).

Install spring (6) and retainer (5) into housing assembly (2).

Hold down retainer (5) in order to compress spring (6).
Use Tool (A) in order to install retaining ring (4).
Install plug (7) and the O-ring seal onto housing assembly (2).
Install screen assembly (3) into housing assembly (2).

Install housing assembly (2) onto base (1). End By:
Install the oil filter and base (parking brake release). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Oil Filter and Base (Parking Brake Release) - Install".
