Removal Procedure
Note: The crankcase guards can be installed with the U-shaped channel of the guard in an upward position or in a downward position. In this procedure, the crankcase guards are in a downward position in order to prevent an accumulation of debris in the U-shaped channel.

Loosen bolts (1) that hold each crankcase guard (2) to the frame.
Use two people or a suitable lifting device to support the crankcase guards. Remove bolts (1) that hold each crankcase guard (2) to the frame. Remove each crankcase guard (2). The weight of each crankcase guard (2) is approximately 45 kg (99 lb).
Repeat Step 2 for the remaining crankcase guards.Installation Procedure

Use two people or a suitable lifting device to position crankcase guard (2) on the frame. Install bolts (1) that hold each crankcase guard (2) to the frame. The weight of each crankcase guard (2) is approximately 45 kg (99 lb).
Repeat Step 1 for the remaining crankcase guards.
Tighten bolts (1) that hold each crankcase guard (2) to the frame.
