Put identification as to the location of all parts for correct installation. 1. Remove the bolts and cover (1) from the dash.2. Remove the screws and tilt instrument panel (2) forward. 3. Remove seven bolts (3) and dash (4). 4. Loosen bolt (5) and remove pedal (6) from the shaft. Make sure the location of the pedal is marked for correct installation. 5. Remove four bolts (7) and tilt housing (8) forward. 6. Disconnect linkage (9) from the back of the housing and remove the housing. 7. Remove two bolts and nuts (10), link (12) and spring (11) from the housing. 8. Loosen bolt (14) and slide lever (13) to the right. 9. Remove key (15) from the shaft. 10. Remove snap ring (16) with tooling (A) as shaft (17) is removed. Remove the shaft and lever (13) and two washers. 11. Remove two bearings (18) with tooling (B). 12. Remove bolts (19) and access plate (20). 13. Disconnect two linkages (21) from bracket assembly (22). 14. Remove the pin that holds bellcrank (23) in position with a punch and hammer as shown. 15. Remove shaft (26), washers (24) and bellcrank from bracket (25). 16. Remove the bearings from the bracket with tooling (B).Install Brake Control Linkage
For correct adjustment of the brake control linkage, see SPECIFICATIONS Form No. SENR7488. 1. Install bearings (1) in bracket (2) with tooling (A). Install the bearings to the bottom of the chamfer. 2. Install washer (5), bellcrank (3), washer (4) and shaft (6) in bracket (2). 3. Make an alignment of the hole in shaft (6) with the hole in bellcrank (3). Install pin (7) that holds the bellcrank in position on the shaft. 4. Put bracket assembly (8) in position and connect two linkages (9) to the lever.5. Use 3S6252 RTV Silicone Sealant as a gasket material. 6. Put access plate (10) in position and install four bolts (11) that hold the bracket assembly to the plate.7. Put the plate in position and install the four bolts that hold the plate to the firewall. 8. Install bearings (13) in housing (12) with tooling (A). Make sure the bearings are installed with stamped side out and even with the outside. 9. Put shaft (15), washers (17), lever (16) and the snap ring in position. Install key (14) in the shaft.10. Slide the lever into position and tighten the bolt that holds the lever in place. 11. Install snap ring (18) with tooling (B). 12. Install two bolts (20), link (19) and spring (21). 13. Put housing (12) in position. Use 3S6252 RTV Silicone Sealant as a gasket material. 14. Connect linkage (22) to the lever in the housing.15. Install the housing and four bolts. 16. Put brake pedal (23) in position on the shaft and tighten the bolt. 17. Put dash (24) in position and install the seven bolts. 18. Install cover (25) and the bolts.19. Put instrument panel (26) in position and install the screws that hold the instrument panel
