Installation Procedure

Install the cable assembly and lever assembly (4) as a unit.

Install bracket assembly (21) with two bolts (27) to the bracket assembly, if the bracket assembly was removed.

Install disc (16) with bolts (22) and the washers.
Install spider assembly (24) with bolts (26). Tighten bolts (26) to a torque of 135 15 N m (100 11 lb ft).
Place drive shaft (23) into position on the yoke assembly. Install bolts (25). Tighten bolts (25) to a torque of 135 15 N m (100 11 lb ft).

Install brake assembly (18), carrier (15) and carrier (17) against disc (16). Install rods (20) on bracket assembly (21) .
Install cotters (19) on rods (20) .

Rotate brake lever (12) counterclockwise.
Repeat Step 8 until angle (X) is less than 30 degrees.
Install spring (14) on brake lever (12) .
Install cable assembly (8) on the brake lever with the cotter and pin (11) (not shown). Connect brake control linkage (13) from the air brake system.

Place cable assembly (8) on plate assembly (9). Tighten nut (10) to a torque of 38 2 N m (28 1 lb ft).
Install clamp (6) with bolts (7) in order to secure the cable assembly.

Pull lever assembly (4) in order to release the pressure on cotter pin (5). Remove cotter pin (5) .

Position lever assembly (4) in the original location. Install bolts (3) and the washers.

Position switch bracket (2) in the original location. Install bolts (1) and the washers.
Adjust the parking brake. Refer to Specifications, "Power Train-Parking Brake" for the machine that is being serviced.
