At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the breather filter cap only when the engine is stopped and the breather filter cap is cool enough to touch. Slowly loosen the breather filter cap to release any pressure in the hydraulic tank. Be cautious of hot hydraulic oil when any lines are disconnected in the hydraulic system.
Put identification on all lines, hoses, wires and tubes for installation purposes. Cap and plug all lines, hoses and tubes to prevent foreign material from entering the system. Drain all fluids in a suitable container for storage or disposal.
Typical Example1. Remove bolts (2) to remove guard and light assembly (1). 2. Put identification on the oil lines for correct installation.3. Disconnect oil lines (3) from the bulldozer quick drop valve.4. Disconnect tube assembly (6) from the bulldozer quick drop valve.5. Remove bolts (5) to remove bulldozer quick drop valve (4). The following steps are for the installation of the bulldozer quick drop valve.6. Check the condition of all O-ring seals used in the hose assemblies and tube assemblies that are connected to the bulldozer quick drop valve. If any of the seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.7. Position bulldozer quick drop valve (4) on the cylinder. Install bolts (5) that hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 160 6 N m (120 4 lb ft).8. Connect tube assembly (6) to the bulldozer quick drop valve. Tighten the bolts that hold tube assembly (6) to a torque of 80 4 N m (60 3 lb ft).9. Connect oil lines (3) to the bulldozer quick drop valve.10. Install light assembly (1) and bolts (2) that hold it.
Make sure the parts that move in the bulldozer quick drop valve move after the valve is installed.

Start By:a. remove bulldozer quick drop valve 1. Remove manifold (1) from bulldozer quick drop valve body (2). 2. Remove sleeve (6) from bulldozer quick drop valve body (2).3. Remove spring (3) from plunger (4).4. Remove plunger (4) and valve (5) from the bulldozer quick drop valve body. Remove the washer (not shown) from the plunger.Assemble Bulldozer Quick Drop Valves
1. Clean and inspect all parts. Make a replacement of the parts that are worn or damaged. Put clean hydraulic oil on the valve parts that move. 2. Put sleeve (5) in position in bulldozer quick drop valve body (4).3. Put the washer (not shown) and spring (1) in position in plunger (2).4. Put valve (3) and plunger (2) in position in bulldozer quick drop valve body (4). 5. Put the O-ring seals in position on manifold (6).6. Install the manifold on bulldozer quick drop valve body (4).
