Before performing any operation or maintenance procedures, ensure that the safety information, warnings, and instructions are read and understood.To determine the maintenance intervals, use fuel consumption, service hours or calendar time, which ever occurs first. Experience has shown that maintenance intervals are most accurately scheduled on the basis of fuel consumption. For information on service hours and fuel consumption, refer to this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Maintenance Recommendations" topic (Maintenance Section ).The operating conditions and the oil API Classification will determine the service hours that are for the PM Level 1 and the Maintenance Interval Schedule. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for your specific oil change interval.Failure to adhere to proper maintenance intervals may result in the degradation of the engine's performance and/or the accelerated wear of the engine's components.Before each consecutive interval is performed, all of the maintenance requirements from the previous interval must be performed.Note: For maintenance information for the truck chassis and the truck engine, refer to the "OEM Service Manual" .Note: For maintenance information for the triplex pump, refer to the "OEM Service Manual" .Note: For maintenance information for the transmission, refer to the "OEM Service Manual" .When Required
