Uninterruptible Power Supply: UPSB505 (S/N: YTM1-UP)Introduction
This Special Instruction will guide the user thru the steps required to upgrade the firmware of the UPSB505 product. The procedure should be used to update the GDET and DIGIT board with the latest software versions. Important Safety Information
Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you have read this Special Instruction and you understand this information. Use only proper tools and observe all precautions that pertain to the use of those tools. Failure to follow these procedures can result in personal injury. The following procedures should also be observed.Work safely. Most accidents that involve product operation, maintenance, and repair are caused by failure to observe basic safety rules or precautions. An accident can often be avoided by recognizing potentially hazardous situations before an accident occurs.A person must be alert to potential hazards. Before uploading the firmware on the boards, check out:
the last UPS Tuner version
the last package
Use the Diagnostic / Report to download the events log
Download the personalization of the GDET and/or DIGITNote: If a non-compatible package is uploaded, the unit will not be started or coupled.Note: In case of power shutdown on PC, the UPS Tuner will restart where the downloading was stopped.Note: In case of power shutdown on the UPS, the UPS reconnects with UPS Tuner and continues downloading. If an error occurs, the upload may be required again.Note: All packages must be stored under the folder firmware, \CAT\UPS TUNER\UPSB 505\firmwareInstallation of Firmware
Launch the UPSB505 UPS Tuner software on the technician PC and connect to the UPS.

Select the "Firmware Upgrade" option under the "Maintenance" Menu.

Download window will Open.

Verify the conditions of the UPS match the instructions in the "Downloading Conditions" window.

Verify the boards to be uploaded are selected in the "Boards to Download" section.

Choose between the standards versions and the specific design by selecting either the "Standard Tab
