Engine News SEBD9920, 19 December 2013, "A New Valve Cover Base Is Now Used on Certain C27 and C32 Engines". The original article was revised to update the parts list.Description of Change: The new valve cover base has injector harness fastening points. The new wiring harnesses have improved connectors and wire.Adaptable To: The new valve cover base and wiring harness replace the existing.The new parts and former parts are listed in Table 1.

Install one bracket (1) onto the 222-6953 Valve Cover Base with one washer (3) and one locknut (4). Refer to Illustration 4 for the correct location of the bracket.
Install two brackets (2) onto the 222-6953 Valve Cover Base with one washer (3) and one locknut (4) per bracket. Refer to Illustration 4 for the correct location of the brackets.

Secure the wiring harness to brackets (1) and (2) with two cable straps (5) per bracket.The change is effective with engine serial numbers on or after 11December 2013.
