Remove oil drain plug (3). Drain the engine oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal.
Remove sealing washer (2) from oil drain plug (3).
Remove bolts (4) from engine oil pan (1).
Carefully separate engine oil pan (1) from the cylinder block.Note: Avoid damage to the engine oil pan during removal.Removal Procedure for the Oil Strainer
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove bolts (7).
Remove oil strainer (6).
Remove O-ring seal (5) from oil strainer (6).Installation Procedure for the Oil Strainer

Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly.

Install a new O-ring seal (5) to oil strainer (6).
Install oil strainer (6) and install bolts (7).
Tighten bolts (7) to a torque of 18 N m (13 lb ft).Installation Procedure for the Engine Oil Pan

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Ensure that the engine oil pan is clean and free from damage. Clean the gasket surface of the cylinder block and the engine oil pan.

The pattern of application of sealant to the engine oil pan
Ensure the mating surface of engine oil pan (1) is free from oil and contaminants. Failure to ensure that the mating surface of the engine oil pan is free from oil and contaminants will result in Tooling (A) not adhering to the mating surfaces.
Apply a continuous bead of Tooling (A) to the mating surface of engine oil pan (1) inside the bolt holes. Refer to Illustration 7 for the correct pattern of application. The bead of Tooling (A) should be approximately 2 mm (0.080 inch) in diameter.Note: Ensure that the bead of sealant has adequate continuous contact with the mating surface.
Ensure that bolts (4) are clean and dry. Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of the bolts.Note: Ensure that the mating surface of engine cylinder block is free from oil and contaminants. Failure to ensure that the mating surface of the engine cylinder block is free from oil and contaminants will result in Tooling (A) not adhering to the mating surfaces.
Position engine oil pan (1) onto the cylinder block and install bolts (4).Ensure that the sealant is not displaced as the engine oil pan is installed.
Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 11 N m (97 lb in).
Install a new sealing washer (2) to oil drain plug (3).
Install oil drain plug (3) to engine oil pan (1). Tighten the oil drain plug to a torque of 39 N m (29 lb ft).
Fill the engine oil pan to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the correct procedure.
