At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the filler cap on the radiator is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the filler cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
1. Release the pressure in the cooling system by slowly loosening the filler cap on the radiator.2. Open the left rear engine compartment door to gain access to the shutoff valves for the cab heater. Close the two valves. 3. Remove five bolts (1) and the washers.4. Remove knob (2). 5. Remove handle (3).6. Remove two knobs (4) and arm rest (5). 7. Remove eleven screws (8), two covers (7), cup holder (6) and cover (9). 8. Remove three bolts (10) and cover (11). 9. Remove six screws (12). Remove the sound suppression from the cab wall. 10. Remove three bolts (13). 11. Remove ten bolts (14), the washers and cover (15) from the outside of the cab. 12. Disconnect electrical connector (16). 13. Remove bracket (20).14. Disconnect two hose assemblies (21) from the cab heater. Put plugs in the hose assemblies to prevent coolant loss.15. Remove the two bolts and washers from plate assembly (18). Remove plate assembly (18), plate (19) and cab heater (17) as a unit from the cab. The following steps are for the installation of the cab heater.16. Install the cab heater in the reverse order of removal.17. Be sure the shutoff valves for the cab heater are open.18. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedure.19. Refer to the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the operation of the cab heater.
