Setup
The Hot Sticks must be installed before each use.

Loosen the thumb screw (8) on the hot stick.
Slide screw into slot (9) on probe.

Tighten thumb Screw firmly.Voltage Measurement
Note: Before using the meter, test and inspect to insure the meter is functioning properly and safely. Reference""Pre-Use Inspection""Line-to-Line
To make a line-to-line voltage measurement, proceed as follows.
Connect one of the probes one voltage supply conductor.
Connect the other probe to a second and different voltage supply conductor.
View meter display for voltage reading.Line-to-Ground
To make a line to ground voltage measurement, proceed as follows
Connect one probe to ground.
Connect a second and different probe to a voltage supply conductor.
View meter display for voltage reading.Maintenance
Pre-Use Inspection
Before using the meter, inspect and test as followsNote: This test process is a two person process.
Make sure the meter is cleaned and dried before each use.
Inspect cord for damaged insulation.
Make sure that resistor stick is cleaned, dried before each use and waxed shiny finish is maintained.
Test meter with provided Proof Tester®Using Proof Tester ®
Caution should be used when working with the Proof Tester ® the tester is a high voltage device.

Attach one clip (10) lead of the Proof Tester ® to each of the HV test probes (11) .

Hold Proof Tester ® in both hands with a thumb on each button marked "test" (12) (13) .
Press both buttons at the same time. The red indicator light (14) on the tester will come on. While holding buttons, view meter display for a reading.
The meter should display a reading of approximately 500V DC. If the meter does not check battery voltage. If battery and tester are in good working order and no voltage is displayed, meter should be returned for repair.Battery Replacement

The battery ( 1U-9534 Battery (9-VOLT) ) for the DMM is located on the end of the meter near the probe (15). The battery can be removed by pressing in and toward the front of the meter. The battery holder can now be removed and battery replaced. Install new battery and reinstall battery holder press inward on holder until the holder latchesNote: The battery and the battery holder can only be installed in one direction.The battery ( 1U-9534 Battery (9-VOLT) ) for the Proof Tester® is located in the back of the device opposite the test leads. To remove the battery, push battery door away from lead end of battery. The battery can now be disconnected from the terminals. Install new battery and reinstall battery door.Cleaning
Wipe meter with a clean dry towel only. Probes should be cleaned with an approved Hot Stick cleaner such as and waxed to shiny finish.Note: Storage
The meter should always be stored in the case in a cool dry place.Calibration
Although there is no specified calibration cycle, the manufacturer recommends the meter be calibrated annually. The meter must be returned to the manufacturer for calibration.
