The steering valve is located under the operator control console.The metering unit receives hydraulic oil from the small section of the auxiliary pump. The hydraulic oil enters the steering valve port "P". Steering Wheel that is Turned to the Right (2) Sleeve (4) Spool (9) Gerotor (10) Port "P" (11) Passage (12) Port "R" (right turn)When the steering wheel is turned to the right, spool (4) and sleeve (2) are rotated to open passages (11) from port "P" (10), through gerotor (9), and to port "R" (12) on the steering valve. Hydraulic oil flows from the port "P" through the gerotor to the port "R" of the valve.From the port "R", the oil flows to the rod end of the right steering cylinder and the head end of the left steering cylinder. To turn the ground drive axle wheels to the right, one steering cylinder will retract and one steering cylinder will extend.

Steering Wheel that is Turned To the Left (2) Sleeve (4) Spool (9) Gerotor (10) Port "P" (13) Passage (14) Port "L" (left turn)When the steering wheel is turned to the left, spool (4) and sleeve (2) are rotated to open passages (13) from port "P" (10), through gerotor (9), and to port "L" (14) on the steering valve. Hydraulic oil flows from the port "P" through the gerotor to port "L" (14) of the valve.From the port, the oil flows to the head end of the right steering cylinder and the rod end of the left steering cylinder.
