Typical example of the installation of clamp (2) A new clamp is now used on the above 3500 Engines. The new clamp is used in the air cleaner groups that are listed in Table 2.

(3) Nut (4) T-bolt (5) Receiver (6) Locking mechanismThe new clamp is more rugged. Installation of the new clamp is also easier. The design of the old clamp has been replaced with the new hand operated latch that is preset in order to provide the correct force. Nut (3) should not need to be adjusted. Overtightening the nut could result in the failure of the clamp. Make sure that T-bolt (4) is fully seated in receiver (5) when the clamp is installed. Also verify that mechanical locking mechanism (6) is engaged when the handle is moved to the closed position.
