Install Tooling (E) and a suitable chain to undercarriage frame assembly (18), as shown. Use a lift truck to pull the undercarriage frame assembly under the upper frame. The weight of the undercarriage frame assembly is approximately 13600 kg (30000 lb).

Use Tooling (C) in order to lower the upper frame in 6.4 mm (.25 inch) increments. The weight of the upper frame is approximately 18145 kg (40000 lb).Note: It is important to keep the upper frame level when the upper frame is being installed on the undercarriage frame assembly.

Make sure that Tooling (B) in the upper frame does not bend during installation. Bending of Tooling (B) indicates that the correct alignment between the upper frame and the undercarriage frame assembly has not been obtained.

Apply 4C-5593 Anti-seize Compound on the threads of bolts (6). Install bolts (6) .
Use Tooling (A) to tighten bolts (6). Torque the bolts to 1000 125 N m (740 90 lb ft).
Remove Tooling (B). Install the remaining two bolts. Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the remaining two bolts.

Remove Tooling (C) and Tooling (D) .

Install two bolts (15) into the bottom of the machine.
Install two bolts (16) and the access plate for the hydraulic tank drain.
Install two bolts (17) into the hydraulic tank mounting.

Install bolts (7) in the bottom of the swivel.
Install tube (8) .

Install the tee adapter on the swivel. Connect hydraulic lines (3) and (4) .

Connect hydraulic lines (5) and (6) .

Use four bolts (1) to install each of four hydraulic lines (2) .
Install the bolts in the bottom guard.

Remove two bolts (11) from cover (12) that is located on the final drive.
Install Tooling (F) into the two bolt holes in the final drive.
Remove the remaining bolts from cover (12).
Make sure that the mating surfaces of the sun gear (13) and the planetary gears are thoroughly clean.

Install sun gear (13) .
Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound on the threads of all bolts (11) that hold cover (12) in position. Install bolts (11) .
Remove Tooling (F). Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound on the threads of two bolts (11). Install two bolts (11) .
Torque all bolts (11) to 100 20 N m (75 15 lb ft).
Fill the final drive with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Final Drive Oil - Change".
Repeat steps 18 through 27 for the other final drive.End By: Install the felling head. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Felling Head - Install".
