Remove the transfer gear. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transfer Gear (Idler) - Remove". Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism. Precision components can be damaged by contaminants or by dirt. Perform disassembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (1).

Use a suitable press in order to remove shaft (2).

Remove bearing (3). Note: Bearing (3) will be destroyed on removal.
Use Tooling (B) in order to remove retaining ring (4) from gear (5).
Remove spacer (6). Use a suitable press in order to remove bearing (7).
