Note: Repeat Steps 35 and 36 in order to assemble the spool from each valve group.
Install ball (30), spring (31), and retainer (32) in the spool.
Install retaining ring (33). Note: The control valves for each clutch are identified by a letter on the valve body. The letters are located on the outer edge of valve body (16) in front of each valve. It is important to not mix parts between valve groups.

Lubricate slug (27) and spool (29) with clean transmission oil. Install slug (28) into spool (29).
Install spring (27) and spool (29).

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.

Install stop (26). Install shims (23) and springs (22), into piston (24). Refer to Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, "Transmission Hydraulic Control - Test and Adjust" in order to determine the correct thickness of shims.
Lubricate pistons (24) and (25) with clean transmission oil. Position pistons (24) and (25).
Lubricate O-ring seal (21). Install the O-ring seal. Install orifice (18) and spring (17) to body (19).
Position body (19) onto valve body (16). Install bolts (20). Note: Repeat Steps 37 through 42 in order to assemble each valve group.

Lubricate the O-ring seals. Install the O-ring seals to plugs (15). Install the plugs to selector and pressure control valve (16).

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press in order to install bearing (14) to the manifold. Install the bearing 0.5 mm (0.02 inch) below the surface. Do not exceed this amount.

Apply Tooling (D) on the bore of the manifold. Do not put the gasket material on the lip seal case. Allow the gasket material to become dry. Use Tooling (A) and a mallet in order to install lip seal (13). Slightly lubricate the sealing lip of the lip seal.

Install backup rings (12) and O-ring seals (11).
