G3516 (3RC) EnginesDescription of Change: A new piston body assembly is used. The rings have been moved closer to the top of the new piston assembly when compared to the former piston assembly. The reduces the crevice volume (the volume between the cylinder and the piston, from the top of the top ring to the top of the piston). The lower crevice volume will result in more complete burning of all the fuel-air mixture in the cylinder. This will result in lower carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon elisions.Adaptable To: The new 6I4609 Piston Body Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 7E7940 Piston Body Assembly which is canceled. The new piston body assembly is effective with G3508 (2JF213) Engine, G3512 (4KC320) Engine, and G3516 (3RC576) Engine. The new 6I4609 Piston Body Assembly uses the same rings as the former piston. They are the 7E7581 (Top) Ting, 8N1234 (Intermediate) Ring, and the 7W2221 (Oil) Ring.
