Remove the fan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan - Remove and Install".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".

Remove clamp (1). Repeat for the opposite side.

Disconnect bottom aftercooler tube (2).

Disconnect top radiator hose (3).

Disconnect top aftercooler tube (4).

Disconnect bottom radiator hose (5). Disconnect bottom aftercooler tube (6).

Disconnect hose assembly (8) from fuel cooler (7).

Disconnect hose assembly (9) from fuel cooler (7).

Remove bolts (10). Remove bolt (11).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto aftercooler (12). The weight of aftercooler (12) is approximately 227 kg (500 lb).

Remove bolt (13). Remove bolts (14) and bolts (15) from aftercooler (12).
Repeat Step 9 through Step 11 for the opposite side.
Remove aftercooler (12).
