Remove the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove".
Remove the front bottom guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bottom Guard - Remove".Note: SERVICE DATA: TOOLING (ZZ) WILL NOT BE IDENTIFIED IN PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE REMOVAL OR THE INSTALLATION. THIS TOOLING IS SHOWN IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE EXPERIENCED SERVICEMAN.
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin. At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure.Steam can cause personal injury.Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the cooling system pressure cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Remove the cooling system pressure cap slowly to relieve pressure.Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
Drain the coolant into a suitable container for disposal or storage. The capacity of the cooling system is approximately 45 L (12 US gal).

Disconnect hose assembly (1) and radiator hose (2) from radiator assembly (3) .

Disconnect aftercooler hose (4) and hose assembly (5) from the radiator assembly. Disconnect harness assemblies (6), (7), and (8) .

Disconnect aftercooler hose (9) and top radiator hose (10) from the radiator assembly. Remove bolts (11) and fan shroud (12) .

Attach a suitable lifting device to radiator guard assembly (15). Remove radiator guard assembly (15). The weight of radiator guard assembly (15) is approximately 363 kg (800 lb).
