preparatory step: a) remove crankshaft pulley 1. Using slide hammer (A), remove the crankshaft front seal. The crankshaft front seal can be removed with the timing gear cover on the engine or off the engine. However, to install the seal to the correct depth, the timing gear cover must be installed on the engine.Install Crankshaft Front Seal
1. Install the crankshaft front seal using tool setup (A) as follows.2. Place the seal over the short end of the seal installer. The lip of the seal should face the inside of the engine when installed. Coat the outer metal shell of the seal with 7F2770 Cement. Use the 9S6012 Spacer to obtain a new wear track for the seal if necessary. Place the spacer between the seal and the flange of the installer.3. Place the installer on the crankshaft. Use the crankshaft pulley retaining washer and bolt to pull the seal into place. When the installer bottoms against the crankshaft gear, the seal is in place.4. Lubricate the lip of seal and the mating surface of crankshaft pulley with the lubricant being sealed.concluding step: a) install crankshaft pulley
