(4) Gen Hot (5) + Gnd Fault (6) - Gnd Fault (7) Drop Time Selector SwitchThis indicator comes ON when the magnet has been energized more than 7.5 minutes of a 10 minute period. The indicator will remain ON for another 10 minutes in order to determine if the magnet has been ON 75% of the time again. If the magnet is ON for less than 7.5 minutes in a 10 minute period, then the indicator will turn OFF. If the magnet is ON for more than 7.5 minutes in a 10 minute period, the indicator will remain ON.Note: The purpose of this function is to help the operator to prevent overheating the magnet. Overheating the magnet will shorten the life of the magnet. Once the indicator is ON, the magnet must be operated less than 7.5 minutes in a ten minute period.Test Step 1. OBSERVE THE INDICATOR.
Turn the magnet OFF. Leave the engine running.
Do not operate the magnet for ten minutes.
Observe the indicator for "OVER 75% D.C.".Expected Result:The indicator will turn OFF after ten minutes.Results:
YES - The indicator turns OFF after ten minutes.Repair: Resume normal machine operation. Operate the magnet for no more than 7.5 minutes during a ten minute period. Stop.
