Information:
Auto/Manual Switches do not Function
Probable Causes
The wire harness is damaged.
The wire connectors are not tight.
Failure of the Implement/Valve Control ECM.Troubleshooting the Laser Receiver
Problem List
"The Laser Receiver Is Not Detected"The Laser Receiver is not Detected
Probable Causes
The wire harness is damaged.
The wire connectors are not tight.
The CAN termination resistors are not installed correctly.
The laser receiver is not installed.Troubleshooting the Calibration
Problem List
"The AccuGrade System Will Not Calibrate"The AccuGrade System will not Calibrate
Probable Causes
The alignment of the machine is not correct.
The engine speed is not at high idle.
The cross slope sensors are not calibrated.
The implement/valve control ecm has failed.
A raise or the lower solenoid has failed.
The upper and lower blade limits are set too high or too low.Cross Slope
Troubleshooting for Inconsistent Cross Slope
Probable Causes
Wheel lean.
The machine is articulated.
Sideshift is applied to the circle drive.
The sensors need to be calibrated.
The blade slope sensor is improperly mounted.
The mainfall sensor is improperly mounted.
The rotation sensor is not accurately reporting the rotation of the blade.
Tire pressure is too low.
The cutting edges of the blade are uneven or the blade is not straight.
There is excessive play of the blade or the circle (worn shims).
Excessive play in the hydraulic swivel of the circle due to a loose pin.
The hydraulic valves need to be calibrated.
The hydraulic valve speed is too slow or inconsistent from one side to the other side.
There is error in the blade slope sensor caused by rounding a curve quickly.Isolating the Problem
Ensure that the operator is conforming to the following machine restrictions while operating the AccuGrade system.
Verify that the front wheels are totally vertical.
Verify that the machine is not articulated.
Verify that sideshift is not applied to the circle.
Perform the full sensor calibration. Refer to the following procedure:Testing and Adjusting, KENR6333, "Full Sensor - Calibrate"
Check the alignment of the cross slope sensors. Refer to the following procedures:
Testing and Adjusting, KENR6333, "Sensor - Adjust (Blade Slope Sensor)"
Testing and Adjusting, KENR6333, "Sensor - Adjust (Mainfall Sensor)"
Use the "Diagnostics" menu on the display in order to verify that the reading for the rotation sensor moves smoothly. The reading for the rotation sensor should increase or decrease with no erratic jumps in the reading. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, KENR6333, "Sensor - Adjust (Rotation Sensor)"
Ensure that the tire pressure is within the specified limits according to the manufacturer.Note: The sidewall of a bias ply tire will flex less than the sidewall of a radial tire. The bias ply tire is a more stable platform for the AccuGrade system. The bias ply tire is superior to the radial tire when the load factor is changing. The flex of the sidewall affects the system by changing the attitude of the mainfall sensor. When the rear tires are loaded, the nose of the machine will be raised from the viewpoint of the mainfall sensor.
Check the cutting edge of the blade for excessive wear or uneven edges. Use a string line to check the cutting edge of the blade. Run a string line from one blade tip to the other blade tip in order to
