SCHEMATIC SYMBOL FOR NEUTRAL/RUN SWITCHScraper Transmission Switch
The scraper transmission switch is a solid state device (unit) with no moving parts. Its function (operation) in the scraper transmission electrical system is to determine the correct speed position of the scraper transmission. The tractor transmission switch operates electrically the same as the scraper transmission switch, only different pin numbers are used. The scraper transmission switch is a mechanical switch with diodes in it. In this way, the switch can be built (made) smaller, because less contacts and rotors are needed. The diodes let current flow in one direction only. Many of the same pins can be used for different speeds, because a diode can direct (send) the current flow to the correct pin.If you remember from the earlier description of the scraper transmission control, the scraper transmission switch supplies (gives) a path, to (electric) ground, that causes two out of the five REAR GEAR lights for the scraper transmission switch to turn ON.The scraper transmission switch has two pins that are connected to machine (electric) ground. In the harness, Pin 10 (ground) connects to machine ground. Pin 10 must be connected to machine ground or all the REAR GEAR lights on the scraper transmission control will be OFF. If only the wire for Pin 1 (Ground Verify) is not at machine ground, the REAR GEAR lights on the scraper transmission control will be on, but the scraper transmission control will not operate correctly. The ground verify wire can only send a (electric) ground to the scraper transmission control if all of the harnesses and connectors operate (function) correctly. The five control wires connect to Pins 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8 of the scraper transmission switch. Each of the control wires have a +5 volts potential when they are disconnected from the circuit. When the switch is connected, two of the five control wires are at machine (electric) ground (0 volts). For explanation of the current path (flow) through the switch, the scraper transmission switch is in REVERSE position. When the scraper transmission switch is in the REVERSE position, the rotor connects to the reverse contact. This connection lets current go through the two diodes to machine (electric) ground. This current path puts grounds on Pin 2 and Pin 3 of the scraper transmission switch. Normally, this causes REAR GEAR lights 5 and 4 on the scraper transmission control to come (turn) ON.
SCRAPER TRANSMISSION SWITCH
SCHEMATIC SYMBOL FOR SCRAPER TRANSMISSION SWITCH Scraper Transmission Speed Sender
The scraper transmission speed sender gets current and voltage from the scraper transmission control. This current and voltage must be at the scraper transmission speed sender so a signal (electric frequency) can be sent back to the scraper transmission control. To get this signal (electric frequency), that is sent to the scraper transmission control from the scraper transmission speed sender, there is a rotation of gear teeth near (past) the scraper transmission speed sender. The gear for the scraper transmission speed sender has 120 teeth and is connected to the
