3. Release the pressure in the air system as follows:a. Continuously push on the brake pedal until there is no more brake air pressure. When the pressure has been removed from the air circuit, there will be no more pressure in the hydraulic circuit.b. Be sure all air pressure is released before any fitting, hose or component is loosened, tightened, removed or adjusted. Before any operational checks are made, open the drain valve to release any water in the air reservoir. Water lowers the capacity in the reservoir and can cause the air compressor to run constantly. Close the drain valve.
At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve the pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
4. Release the pressure in the cooling system by slowly loosening the fill cap on the radiator. 5. Open panel door (1) on the right side of the cab. 6. Put identification marks on seven hose assemblies (2) connected to pilot control valve (3). Disconnect the seven hose assemblies from the pilot control valve.7. Disconnect three electrical connectors (4) from the pilot control valve. 8. Remove eight nuts (5) and the washers, and remove two-piece shroud (6) from the bottom front of the cab.
View From Under Cab9. Disconnect ground strap (7).
View from Under Cab10. Put identification marks on four hydraulic hoses (8) connected to hand metering pump (9). Disconnect the four hose assemblies from the hand metering pump.
View From Under Cab11. Put identification marks on four air lines (11) connected to brake control valve (10). Disconnect the four air lines from the brake control valve.
View From Under Cab12. Disconnect hose assembly (12) from the secondary parking brake valve. 13. Disconnect air hose assembly (14) from transmission neutralizer group (15).14. Remove two bolts (13) and the washers. Slip the yoke on the end of the neutralizer control cable out of the slot in the control valve spool. Disconnect transmission neutralizer group (15).15. Disconnect electrical connector (16). 16. Disconnect electrical connector (17).17. Remove two bolts (18) and the washers. Slip the yoke on the end of the selector cable out of the slot on the control valve spool. Disconnect selector (19). 18. Disconnect two electrical connectors (20) at the rear of the cab. 19. Disconnect two heater hoses (23) at the rear of the cab.
Always wear goggles when working on air conditioning systems. The system is under pressure at all times, engine running or not. Escaping Freon-12 (C C12 F2 Dichloro Difluoro Methane) can cause freezing of human flesh.Do not smoke while working on air conditioning. INHALING FREON-12 THROUGH ANY SMOKING MATERIAL, ALTHOUGH NOT TOXIC OR FLAMMABLE, CAN CAUSE VIOLENT ILLNESS. ALSO HEAT MUST NEVER BE APPLIED TO A CHARGED SYSTEM. See Air Conditioning And Heating Service
