start by:a) remove drive shaftb) remove transmission oil and scavenge pumpc) remove dash 1. Release the flywheel clutch.2. Remove steering brake rods (2).3. Remove steering clutch control rods (1). 4. Disconnect hose assembly (4) from the bottom of the transmission and steering clutch oil filter.5. Remove four bolts (3) that hold the filter to the bracket. 6. Disconnect wires (5) and pull clear of the transmission.7. Remove two bolts (7). Remove bracket and transmission and steering clutch oil filter (6). 8. Remove tube assembly (8).9. Remove filter screen and bracket (9) from the transmission as a unit.10. Remove two bolts and locks. Remove washer, O-ring seal and yoke (10) from the transmission pinion shaft. 11. Remove cotter pin and pin (11). Pull rods (12) clear of lever.12. Remove cotter pins and pins (15). Remove rod (13).13. Remove lever (14) from the transmission. 14. Remove the oil level gauge guide tube assembly (16) from the bottom of the flywheel clutch cover. 15. Remove the cover from the flywheel clutch cover. Remove eight bolts (17) that hold the ring of the flywheel clutch to the flywheel. Turn the engine flywheel to remove the eight bolts. If necessary install a 1/2"-13 NC forcing screw in the ring of the flywheel clutch to move the ring away from the flywheel. 16. Install tooling (A) on the flywheel clutch as shown. Fasten a hoist to the flywheel clutch. Remove the bolts that hold the flywheel clutch cover to the flywheel housing.17. Install two 1/2"-13 NC forcing screws (18) in the flywheel clutch cover. Move the flywheel clutch cover away from the flywheel housing. Put a wire around the back of the clutch group to keep the clutch group on the shaft. 18. Remove the clamp and pull battery cables (19) clear of the flywheel clutch.19. Remove flywheel clutch (20). The weight of the flywheel clutch is 325 lb. (146 kg). 20. Remove disc assembly (22).21. Remove plate (21).22. Remove the other disc assembly from the flywheel housing. 23. Remove three bolts (23), locks and retainers from the hub. Remove hub (24). 24. Use tooling (B) to remove bearing outer race from the flywheel. 25. Remove ring, bearing inner race and roller assembly (25). Remove ring (26) from hub.Install Flywheel Clutch And Hub (Direct Drive And Special Application)
1. Put ring (3) in position on hub.2. Heat the bearing inner race and roller assembly to a maximum temperature of 275°F (135°C). Install bearing (2) on the hub. Install spiral lockring (1). 3. Lower the temperature of the bearing outer race. Install bearing outer race (5) in the flywheel.4. Put hub (4) in position on the flywheel. Install the three retainers, locks and bolts that hold it. 5. Install disc (7), plate (6) and disc in the flywheel. 6. Install tooling (A) on the flywheel clutch cover as shown. Put a wire around the clutch group and cover to keep the clutch group on the shaft. Fasten a hoist to the flywheel clutch. Put flywheel clutch
