Engine Ratings Electronic Software
The SET speed for the throttle lock will match "Desired Engine Speed". The SET speed will not match "Actual Engine Speed". Press the throttle pedal downward completely. Set the throttle lock. This will provide a 2120 rpm setting for the throttle lock regardless of the actual engine speed.
Now, the totals for the engine in ET are displayed correctly. This includes fuel consumption which can now be communicated through the Product Link.
The ether switch now displays a status message in ET when you depress the ether switch.
The engine brake control will now engage at 1500 rpm. The engine brake control will now disengage at 1400 rpm. This allows the lockup clutch to stay engaged. This protects the lockup clutch from continuous cycling. Also, this protects the power train from torque spikes during engagement of the lockup clutch. The machine speed is very consistent. There is minimal machine acceleration or deceleration. Some use of the service brakes may be required if the machine needs to come to a stop. (This feature is used only on the 834G Wheel Dozer.)

The calibration procedure for the "transmission clutch fill" will fail. This is caused by a communication problem between the transmission ECM and the EMS3. The problem occurs when the 4C-8195 Control Service Tool is used, and you are in mode 8-81-40. The following error codes appeared in the display area of the Caterpillar Monitoring System: 40E005 and 40E006. This software release will correct the problem.Power Train Software
The time that is required in order to calibrate the impeller clutch is faster. New logic signal monitors the temperature of the transmission sump.
Operation of the engine brake is improved by keeping the lockup clutch engaged when the left pedal is depressed.
The values for the pressure calibration of the transmission clutch engagement can now be extracted through ET.
Calibration of the Left Pedal with ET has been corrected.
New ability to DISABLE the reverse engine fan in ET
The lockup converter operates in 3rd and 4th gears. The Lock Up Converter or "LUC" switch can be in the ON position. The Lock Up Converter or "LUC" switch may also be in the OFF position. This will provide more engine brake while the machine is on a down grade.
