Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Using Tooling (A) to remove engine oil filters (8). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the correct procedure.
Disconnect hose assembly (2) and hose assembly (3) from engine oil filter base (6).
Remove O-ring seal (1) (not shown) and O-ring seal (4) (not shown).
Disconnect harness assembly (10) from oil pressure sensor (9).
Remove bolts (5) and remove oil filter base (6) from bracket (7).

If necessary, follow Step 4.a through Step 4.c in order to disassemble engine oil filter head (6).
Remove connection (11) from engine oil filter base (6). Remove O-ring seal (13).
Make temporary mark on elbow connection (11). Loosen the locking nut on the elbow connection. Remove the elbow connection from engine oil filter base (6). Remove O-ring seal (14).
Remove oil pressure sensor (9) from valve (18). Remove O-ring seal (19) from the oil pressure sensor.
Remove valve (18) from elbow connection (16). Remove O-ring seal (17) from the valve.
Make temporary mark on elbow connection (16). Loosen the locking nut on the connection. Remove the elbow connection from engine oil filter base (6). Remove O-ring seal (15) from the elbow connection.

If necessary, follow Step 3.a through Step 12 in order to remove adapter (22).
Disconnect hose assembly (2) and hose assembly (3).
Remove O-ring seal (20) (not shown) and O-ring seal (21) (not shown).
Remove allen head bolts (23) from adapter (22). Remove the adapter from the cylinder block.
Remove gasket (24) (not shown).

If necessary, follow Step 2.a through Step 2.c in order to disassemble adapter (22).
Remove connection (25) and connection (27) from adapter (22).
Remove O-ring seal (26) (not shown) and O-ring seal (28) (not shown) from the connections
Remove the cap from valve (31).
Remove valve (31) from elbow connection (30). Remove O-ring seal (32) (not shown) from the valve.
Make temporary mark on elbow connection (30). Loosen the locking nut on the elbow connection. Remove the elbow connection from adapter (22). Remove O-ring seal (29) (not shown) from the elbow connection. Installation Procedure
Ensure that all components of the engine oil filter base, adapter, connections, and hose assemblies are free from wear and restriction. Replace any component that is worn, damaged, or not free from restriction.

If necessary, follow Step 2.a through Step 2.e in order to assemble adapter (22).
Install a new O-ring seal (29) (not shown) to elbow connection (30).
Install elbow connection (30) to adapter (22) and align the elbow connection to the original position. Tighten the locking nut on the elbow connection to a torque of 17 N m (150
