Location of the auxiliary leverThis diagnostic code is recorded when the ECM records an erratic signal or an intermittent signal from the auxiliary joystick control.The possible causes for this diagnostic code are listed:
The signal circuit is open.
The +battery circuit for the sensor is open.
The signal circuit is shorted to the +battery circuit.
The signal circuit is shorted to ground.Note: Ensure that CID 1189 FMI 02 is active. System Response:The diagnostic code is logged into the internal memory of the ECM.Test Step 1. INSPECT THE JOYSTICK.
Perform a visual inspection of the joystick, the wiring for the joystick and the hardware that is associated with the joystick.Expected Result:There is no apparent damage to the joystick, the wiring for the joystick or the hardware that is associated with the joystick.Results:
OK - There is no apparent damage to the joystick, the wiring for the joystick or the hardware that is associated with the joystick. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - There is apparent damage to the joystick, the wiring for the joystick or the hardware that is associated with the joystick. Repair: Replace the joystick.STOPTest Step 2. CHECK FOR POWER AT THE JOYSTICK.
Do not disconnect the harness connector from the joystick.
At the back of the harness connector for the joystick, insert a multimeter probe along contact 1 (wire 709-OR).
Measure the voltage from contact 1 (wire 709-OR) to contact 2 (wire J765-BU).
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.Expected Result:The voltage that is measured is approximately 10.0 volts.Results:
OK - The voltage that is measured is approximately 10.0 volts. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NOT OK - The voltage is not 10.0 volt. The circuit is open. Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the
