Porosity or cracks of the oil pan.Problem
There are reports of porosity or cracks in 113-5280 Oil Pan and oil leakage through the oil pan at low hours. There have been Oil Pan failures on 3056E Engines. Additional failure of the 6I-4710 Gasket have been identified as a leaking engine oil.Solution
An investigation is on going. Use same parts.Note: Caterpillar dealers are required to provide photographic evidence of the example when this issue has been seen. Caterpillar dealers are required to supply pictures or documentation that highlights the leak path or locations of defects of the material in the components under investigation.
