Press the tab (1) in order to release the clip.
Remove the fuel filter element (2) .
Replace the fuel filter element.
Attach the clip.Later Models

Turn valve (7) in a counterclockwise direction in order to drain the fuel. Drain the fuel into a suitable container.Note: Dispose of the waste in a proper manner.
Close valve (7) .
Hold bowl (6) while you loosen the collar (5). Remove the bowl (6) and the collar (5) .
Loosen the collar (3). Remove the element (5). Discard the element in a proper manner.
Clean the parts. Inspect the parts for damage. Replace the damaged parts or replace the worn parts.
Clean the filter mounting base. All of the old seal must be removed.
Apply a light coat of diesel fuel to the seal of the new filter.
Install the new filter. Use only your hand for installation of the filter. When the gasket contacts the filter base, turn the filter by 270 degrees more. This will tighten the filter sufficiently. Tighten the collar (6) .
Install the bowl (6) and tighten the collar (5) .
Start the engine and check the fuel system for leaks.
Close the engine compartment.
