(1)Measure the Oil Level
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
The crankcase oil level dipstick is located on the left side of the engine. Engine stopped (1): With the oil cold, bring the oil level to the SAFE STARTING RANGE on the ENGINE STOPPED side of the dipstick.Engine running (2): With the engine at low idle and the oil warm, bring the oil level to the FULL mark on the ENGINE RUNNING side of the dipstick. 1. If necessary to add oil, remove the oil fill cap.2. Add oil as required.3. Clean and reinstall the cap.
Remove any rocks, sand or other debris from crankcase guard. Debris build-up inside guard could cause the oil pan to crack if guard is not allowed to deflect properly.
