Schematic of the implement lockout switchThis diagnostic code is recorded when the ECM records the voltage from the implement lockout switch as being above normal. The circuit is shorted to +battery. The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed:
A short to +battery
A faulty switch
The ECM has failed. This is unlikely.System Response:The machine response is listed:
The implement lockout solenoid will remain activated at all times and the implement functions will be disabled.
Solenoid overrides are disabled.
Blade functions and ripper functions are disabled.Note: This procedure can cause new diagnostic codes to be recorded. Ignore these created diagnostic codes. When the procedure is completed, clear the created diagnostic codes.Note: Ensure that the CID 0490 FMI 03 for the switch is active.Test Step 1. CHECK THE CIRCUIT.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the J1 and J2 connectors from the implement ECM.
Disconnect the implement lockout switch from the machine harness.
Disconnect the implement lockout solenoid.
At the J2 machine harness connector, measure the resistance from contact J2-30 (wire E917-WH) and J2-3 (wire E918-GN) to all other J1 and J2 contacts.Expected Result:Each resistance measurement should be greater than 5000 ohms. Results:
YES - Each resistance measurement is greater than 5000 ohms. The harness is correct. Proceed to test step 2.
NO - The resistance measurement is NOT correct.Repair: There is a short in the machine harness. Contact J2-30 (wire E917-WH) or contact J2-3 (wire E918-GN) is shorted to the circuit with the low resistance measurement. Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOPTest Step 2. CHECK THE SWITCH.
The switch should be in the NOT LOCKED position. At the switch, measure the resistance from contact 2 (wire E918-GN) to contact 1 (wire M927-GN). Less than 5 ohms should be present.
The switch should be in the LOCKED position. At the switch, measure the resistance from contact 2 (wire E918-GN) to contact 3 (wire E917-WH). Less than 5 ohms should be present.
The switch should be in the NOT LOCKED position. Then, the switch should be in the LOCKED position. The following measurements should be performed with the switch in both positions. At the switch, check for continuity from contact 1 (wire M927-GN) to contact 3 (wire E917-WH). For this measurement, the resistance measurement should be greater than 5 ohms.Expected Result:The resistance matches the description in item "A.", "B.", and "C.".Results:
OK - The resistance measurements match the description for items "A.", "B.", and "C.". The switch is correct.Repair: Exit this procedure and perform this procedure again. If the cause of the diagnostic code is NOT found, replace the ECM. See Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace".STOP
NOT OK - One or more resistance measurements is NOT correct.Repair: The switch has failed. Replace the implement lockout switch. Verify that the new switch corrects the diagnostic code.STOP
