Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove bolts (1) and the washers. Remove valve cover (2) .
If necessary, remove the seal.
Repeat Steps 1 through 2 for the remaining valve covers (2) .Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Inspect the seal for good condition. Obtain a new seal, if necessary.

The tightening sequence
Make sure that the seal is installed in the groove of the valve cover. Place valve cover (2) in the original position.
Install bolts (1) and the washers. Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 12 3 N m (9 2 lb ft). Tighten bolts (1) again to a torque of 12 3 N m (9 2 lb ft).
Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the remaining valve covers (2) .
