Which Generate This Code:The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
Engine coolant temperature is greater than 107 °C (225 °F) for more than two seconds.
110-03 diagnostic code is not active.
110-04 diagnostic code is not active.System Response:The ECM will log the warning. This event is deactivated if coolant temperature falls below 105 °C (221 °F), or if the following diagnostic codes become active:

Low power
There may be a problem with the cooling system.

Connect Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) to the service tool connector.
Turn the keyswitch to the ON position.
Check for any active diagnostic codes or for logged diagnostic codes.Expected Result:No diagnostic codes are present.Results:
OK - No diagnostic codes are present. Proceed to Test Step 2.
Not OK - A diagnostic code(s) is present.Repair: Repair the diagnostic codes that are present. Refer to the appropriate topic in the "Troubleshooting With a Diagnostic Code" section of this manual.Ensure that the repair eliminates the problem. Stop.Test Step 2. Perform a Check of the Cooling System
Perform a check of the cooling system. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Coolant Temperature Is Too High" for possible causes.Expected Result:There are no problems with the cooling system.Results:
OK - There are currently no problems with the cooling system. However, there may be an intermittent problem.Repair: Monitor the operation of the engine.Repair any problem(s).Ensure that the repair eliminates the problem(s). Stop.
