Schematic of the Inclination Sensor (Dynamic)This diagnostic code is recorded when the ECM cannot receive data off the CAN data link from the sensor. The ECM expects to receive information from the CAN data link at a specific rate.Possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed:
The inclination sensor is not functioning.
The termination resistor on the CAN data link is disconnected.
The ECM has failed. This is unlikely.System Response:
The gauge parameter for the pitch of the tractor on the VIDS will read zero at all times. The gauge parameter for the roll of the tractor on the VIDS will read zero at all times.
The autocarry function will not operate properly.Test Step 1. CHECK THE INPUT VOLTAGE OF THE SENSOR.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position. Do NOT start the tractor.
Remove the floorplate.Note: Ensure that the tractor has cooled. Avoid contact with the manifold.
Disconnect the 12-pin connector for the sensor.
Measure the voltage across contact 1 (wire 197-GN) and contact 2 (wire 210-BK).Expected Result:The voltage that is measured is between 18 DCV and 32 DCV.Results:
YES - The voltage that is measured is between 18 DCV and 32 DCV. The sensor is receiving the correct voltage. Proceed to test step 2.
NO - The sensor is NOT receiving input voltage. Verify that the connector for the sensor and the harness are correct. Proceed to test step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE TERMINATION RESISTOR.
De-energize the system.
The 12-pin connector for the sensor remains disconnected.
Measure the resistance across contact 3 (wire F711-GN) and contact 4 (wire F712-GY).Expected Result:The resistance that is measured is 60 10 ohms. Results:
YES - The resistance that is measured is 60 10 ohms. Repeat this test step. If the same results occur, an internal component to the sensor has failed.Repair: Replace the sensor.STOP
NO - The resistance that is measured is NOT 60 10 ohms.Repair: Replace the termination resistor.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK THE BATTERY VOLTAGE.
The engine should not be running.
At the battery, measure the voltage of the battery.Expected Result:The voltage that is measured is less than 18 DCV.Results:
YES - The voltage that is measured is less than 18 DCV. The voltage is NOT correct. Repair: Check the charging system. See Special Instruction, REHS0354.STOP
NO - The voltage that is measured is between 18 and 32.5 DCV. There is an open in the circuit between the battery and the sensor.Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOP
