(1) Blocking Bar (2) Self-Securing Hook (X) Location of InterferenceOn certain buckets, the distance between pin centerlines will cause the blocking bar to become jammed. The interference occurs between the blocking bar (1) and the self-securing hook (2) at location (X). Interference can also occur when the operator attempts to unlatch the bucket from the coupler with the bucket in an incorrect position. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7304, "Quick Coupler - Installation and Removal" for detailed information on releasing the bucket. If the blocking bar interferes at point (X), use the following procedure to ensure that the blocking bar can swing freely into the next step of the hook.
Park the machine on firm level ground. Place the coupler in a fully curled position. Release the coupler in order to allow the bucket to detach from the coupler.
Slowly retract the bucket cylinder until the coupler has disengaged from the bucket pins. Lift the coupler away from the bucket. Lower the coupler to the ground.
Stop the engine of the host machine.
Relieve the pressure in the hydraulic system.
Support the blocking bar in an upright position so the blocking bar is accessible.

Blocking bar
Mark the profile of the end of the blocking bar with a felt tipped marker. This will produce a 2 mm (0.0787 inch) line which will be used as a guide.
Remove the excess material (A) from the blocking bar with a grinder. The material that is removed should be kept to a minimum. Remove no more than 2 mm (0.0787 inch) to 3 mm (0.1181 inch) from the blocking bar.Note: Maintain the correct angle between the face of the blocking bar and the face of the hook.Note: Maintain a 9 mm (0.3543 inch) radius (B) on the top and bottom of the blocking bar.
Attach the bucket to the coupler and check the movement of the blocking bar as the hook clamps onto the bucket pins.
Drop the blocking bar into engagement with the hook. Check the gap between the hook and the end of the blocking bar with a feeler gauge. The correct clearance is 2 mm (0.0787 inch).
