Information:

operating hours discrepancy is when the "Engine Hours" in VisionLink display hours different than the equipment. Use the Steps below to correct the situation. When troubleshooting hour discrepancies, keep the following information in mind:
If the difference in hours, between the "Master ECM", and the PLE601 Network Manager is greater than 50 hours, manually synchronize by selecting the "Synchronize" option.
After turning on the asset, the asset will need time to ensure that all ECMs are powered up and have completed the Sync-Clock arbitration process. Wait at least five minutes after turning on the asset to connect with Cat ET.
Always ensure that all machine ECMs are up to date with the latest firmware.
Within VisionLink, check to see if the device is accumulating any hours and/or recording start/stops.
If hours are incrementing but the total hours are incorrect, proceed to Step 2.
If hours are not incrementing, proceed to Step 3.Note: Cat ET access is only available on the PL542 on Caterpillar machines with a standard nine-pin service port. The use of a 140-9442 Adapter Cable As will be required.
Connect to Cat ET. Navigate to "Service" and select "Synchronizing Service Hour Meters".
If there is a "Sync Clock Master" that is not Product Link, then sync Product Link to the "Master".
If there is no "Sync Clock Master", manually correct the Product Link hours. If hours continue to drift greater than one percent from the machine hours, proceed to Step 4.
Connect to Cat ET with the machine engine ON. Navigate to "Service Tool", under the Product Link ECM, check to see if the "Engine Operation Status" correctly displays "Running".
If the status shows "Running", ensure that the asset is communicating with the back office and has an active subscription.
If the status shows "Not Running", check all wiring for the Product Link device. If the wiring is correct, proceed to Step 4.
With the engine running, check the status of the blue LED.
The blue LED is blinking every four seconds. Critical data needed for a PL542 is not present, not a good installation for a PL542, consider installing a PL241.
The blue LED is blinking every one second, multiple times per second, or solid. Proceed to Step 5.
Work through your Dealer TC for more service technical support at Caterpillar. If a service request is necessary, the TC can enter a "Product Technology" service request through the PSCRM system. For more guidance, refer to System Operation Troubleshooting Testing and Adjusting, M0079294, "Service Meter - Synchronize".
