Illustration 1 displays a typical electronic display group. This Special Instruction provides the procedure in order to install the 150-1682 Button Kit . The button kit contains the replacement ID buttons for the buttons that are removed from the electronic display group.Note: Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until the information has been read and understood.Equipment And Materials List
The following equipment and materials are necessary in order to complete the installation of the ID buttons.
Pneumatic Screwdriver with a tip for a 6-19 phillips screw calibrated at 0.8 0.1 N m (7.5 0.5 lb in)
Conductive Wrist Strap that must be properly grounded in order to avoid electrostatic discharge damage to the electronic display group
150-1682 Button Kit Procedure
Risk of electrostatic discharge damage is possible while working on the electronic display group. A properly grounded conductive wrist strap should be worn.

Typical Electronic Display Group (removing screws and bracket): (3) 116-1313 Screws . (4) 114-3477 Bracket .
Remove the two 116-1313 Screws (3) and the metallic 114-3477 Bracket (4) from the Electronic Display Group. Refer to Illustration 2.

Typical Electronic Display Group (disassembling the unit): (X) Pneumatic screwdriver. (Y) Fixture. (1) Screws. (2) Housing. (5) 115-7618 Display Assembly . (7) 150-1682 Button Kit . (8) Mirror.Note: The fixture is used to hold the electronic display group while it is disassembled. Use a mirror with the fixture in order to position the ID buttons. The fixture is not available through Caterpillar. The fixture can be fabricated similar to the design in Illustration 3.
Remove the four screws (1) with the use of the pneumatic screwdriver (X). The front of the 115-7618 Display Assembly (5) will be separated from the plastic housing (2). Note: Carefully remove the display assembly (5) in order to avoid damage to the display assembly.
Remove the buttons (7). The buttons should be discarded.

Typical Electronic Display Group (assembling the ID buttons): (X) Pneumatic screwdriver. (1) Screws. (2) Housing. (5) 115-7618 Display Assembly . (7) 150-1682 Button Kit . (8) Mirror.
Replace the buttons with the new ID buttons that are contained within the 150-1682 Button Kit . Refer to Illustration 4 in order to verify the position of the ID buttons.
Place the housing (2) on the display assembly (5). Insert four screws (1) into the four holes of the housing. Tighten the screws with the pneumatic screwdriver (X) .
Place the bracket (4) and the screws (3) back into the original locations for

Remove the buttons (7). The buttons should be discarded.
