The fuel in the engine electronic control module and in the hose assemblies connected to the module may be under high pressure. When the hose assemblies connected to the module are disconnected, the pressure will be released. Fuel under high pressure can penetrate the body causing personal injury. To release the pressure, slowly loosen the hose assembly.
Mark and identify all hose assemblies for installation purposes. Cap and plug all hose assemblies to avoid system contamination. 2. Disconnect hose assembly (1) from engine electronic control (2). 3. Disconnect hose assembly (3) from engine electronic control (2). 4. Mark and identify two wiring harnesses (4) and (6) for installation purposes. Loosen two socket head bolts (5). Remove wiring harnesses (4) and (6) from engine electronic control (2) at the electrical connections. 5. Remove four bolts (7), the mounts, the spacers, the washers, and engine electronic control (2) from the engine. The following steps are for the installation of the engine electronic control. 6. Put engine electronic control (2) in position on the engine. Install four bolts (7), the mounts, the spacers, and the washers. 7. Put wiring harnesses (4) and (6) in position on engine electronic control (2). Tighten two socket head bolts (5). 8. Connect hose assembly (3) on engine electronic control (2). 9. Connect hose assembly (1) on engine electronic control (2).10. Turn the fuel supply valve to the "On" position. Prime the fuel system.11. Prime the fuel system prior to starting the engine. Refer to the topics "Priming the Fuel System and Priming Procedure (Dry Start)" in the 5130B Excavator Operation and Maintenance Manual.
