983 LoadersDescription of Change: A new filter element is used for the water-glycol fluid in fire resistant hydraulic systems. The new element has better efficiency and permits extended service intervals. It is used in place of both former elements (one screen-type and one or two paper) in the filter. The new service interval for element replacement is 250 Service Meter Units. The new service interval will be shown in the Operation, Lubrication and Maintenance Guide for Fire Resistant Hydraulic Systems when revision is made.Adaptable As: Direct replacement. Use the new 3G4621 Filter Element Assembly (Water Glycol) in place of both the former 4J6064 and 6J7096 Filter Element Assemblies in these systems. The fire resistant hydraulic system on 977 Loaders uses two of the new elements in place of one each of the former elements. The system on 983 Loaders uses three of the new elements in place of two 4J6064 and one 6J7096 Element. Identification of the new elements can be made by the black color of the end caps.
