Information:

22. Remove spacer (30) and outer race (31). Shaft (26) must be supported when it is being pressed clear of the bearing.23. Install Tool (F) and press bearing cone (32) from shaft (26).Assemble Track Motor
Fluid Spillage ContainmentCare must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "TOOLS AND SHOP PRODUCT GUIDE, NENG2500", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates.1. Thoroughly clean all parts before assembly. Put a small amount of hydraulic oil on all parts before assembly.
Use extra care not to damage the highly finished surface of the barrel face and the distributor plate during the assembly of the fan drive motor.
Typical Example2. Heat bearing cone (32) to a maximum temperature of 90°C (194°F). Using Tool (C) install bearing cone (32) on shaft (26). 3. Install outer race (31) and spacer (30).
Setup Of Dial Indicator Group (Tool E). Gauge Blocks (Tool D).4. Position gauge blocks Tool (D) on the surface plate Tool (F) to obtain dimension J of 135 mm (5.3 in). Position Tool (E) over the gauge blocks and zero the indicator.
Measurement For Spacer Thickness. (30) Spacer (31) Outer Race.5. Position the bearing assembly on surface plate Tool (F). Slide the bearing assembly under Tool (E).The reading on the indicator should be between + 0.05 and -0.05 mm (+.002 and -.002 in).If the dimension is more than +0.05 mm, grind the spacer to the correct dimension. 6. Heat bearing (29) to a maximum temperature of 70°C (158°F). Using Tool (C), install bearing cone (29) on shaft (26). 7. Using Tool (H) install shim (27) and retaining ring (28) on shaft (26). 8. Check seven pistons (21) and center pin (24) on the ball end for scratches and pitting. Provide replacement parts if necessary.
All piston rings must be installed with the marks toward the flat end of the piston or the motor will not operate.
9. The piston rings (25) must be installed with marks toward the flat end of the pistons. Install the piston rings on the pistons with the flat end gaps of the two piston rings 180 degrees apart.
Typical Example10. Assemble retainer plate (22) and center pin (24), and seven pistons (21) together on the shaft. Put 4C-9500 Quick Cure Primer on the 14 retainer plate bolts and allow the primer to dry. Use 9S-3263 Thread Lock on the retainer plate bolts. Install 14 retainer plate bolts (23). Tighten bolts (23) to a torque of 10 4 N m (7 3 lb ft).11. Install spring (20) in the center pin. 12. Install disc (17) in barrel (7).
Typical Example13. Put SAE 10W Oil on the seven pistons and the center pin and in the piston bores in the barrel. Install barrel (7) on the pistons. Install Tooling (A)
