1. Remove vibration damper guard (1).2. Remove the V-belts from the pulleys.
Typical Example3. Remove two bolts (2) and install two 1 in - 8 NF guide bolts.4. Remove the remainder of bolts (2).
Typical Example5. Install Tooling (A) and fasten brackets to a hoist. Remove vibration damper and damper adapter (3) from the crankshaft. The weight of the vibration damper and damper adapter is approximately 75 Kg (165 lb). 6. Remove bolts (4) and remove vibration damper (5) from damper adapter (3). The weight of the vibration damper is approximately 41 Kg (90 lb). The weight of the damper adapter is approximately 34 Kg (75 lb). 7. Inspect the vibration damper for signs of leakage or a dented (damaged) housing (6). Either condition can cause metal ring (7) to make contact with housing (6) and effect the damper operation. The following steps are for the installation of the vibration damper.8. Install the vibration damper in the reverse order of removal.9. Ensure that the dash mark on damper adapter (3) aligns with the dash mark on the crankshaft.10. Tighten bolts (4) that hold vibration damper (5) to damper adapter (3) to a torque of 105 20 N m (75 15 lb ft).11. Apply 4C-5593 Thread Lubricanton the threads of bolts (2) prior to installation. Tighten damper adapter mounting bolts (2) to a torque of 1150 150 N m (850 110 lb ft).12. Install the V-belts on the pulleys.13. Install vibration damper guard (1).
