Information:
Start By:a. remove bulldozer lift cylinders 1. If necessary, remove bearings (1) from the lift cylinder. 2. Put lift cylinder in position on tooling (A).3. Use tool (B) and remove crown (2) from cylinder (3). 4. Put a stand [part of tooling (A)] under cylinder rod (4) to support the weight.5. Use tooling (A) and pull the cylinder away from the cylinder rod (4).6. Use tooling (C) to loosen the bolt on the end of rod (4). Remove tooling (C) and the bolt.7. Remove piston assembly (6) from cylinder rod (4).8. If necessary, use tooling (A) to remove head (5) from rod (4) as follows:a. Push the cylinder into position on rod (4) and head (5).b. Install crown (2) onto the cylinder.c. Pull head (5) from rod (4).d. Remove crown (2) and head (5) from the cylinder. 9. Remove wear ring (9), seal (10) and the ring from piston assembly (7).10. If necessary, use a press and push plungers (8) and the inserts out of piston assembly (7). Remove the spacers under the plungers if necessary. 11. Remove O-ring seal (13) and back-up ring (12) from head (5).12. Remove seals (14), (11) and (15) from the head.Assemble Bulldozer Lift Cylinders
1. Put clean oil on the seals and ports.2. Install seals (6) and (2) into head (1). The lip of seal (2) must be toward seal (6).3. Use tool group (D) and install seal (5) into the head.4. Install back-up ring (3) and O-ring seal (4) on the head. 5. Put the cylinder and rod (7) in position on tooling (A).6. Put head (8) in position in the cylinder and install crown (9).7. Put clean oil on the seals in head (8). Make sure rod (7) is properly aligned with the seals in head (8). Use tooling (A) to push the cylinder and the head onto rod (7).8. Remove crown (9) from the cylinder and use tooling (A) to pull the cylinder away from head (8) and rod (7). Make sure the flat sides of inserts (12) are parallel to a centerline from the center of the insert to the center of the piston (11).9. Install the spacers that go under plungers (10).10. Install plungers (10) and inserts (12) into piston (11). 11. Put piston (11) in position on the cylinder rod.12. Install the rubber expansion ring onto piston (11). Install seal (13) over the rubber expansion ring.13. Install wear ring (14) onto the piston.14. Put clean oil on the threads of bolt (15). Install bolt (15) and the washer into the end of rod (7). 15. Use tooling (C) and tighten bolt (15) to a torque of 2580 258 N m (1900 190 lb ft). 16. Put clean hydraulic oil on the seals of the piston and the head. Use tooling (A) to push the cylinder in position onto the rod and the head. When crown (9) is tightened, the rod must be fully extended to allow the piston to contact the head. The contact will
