Remove the engine speed sensor.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove bolts (1).
Remove coupling guard (2).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to flywheel (3). The weight of flywheel (3) is approximately 170 kg (375 lb).
Remove two bolts (4) on each side of the crankshaft and install Tooling (B).
Remove remaining bolts (4).
Remove flywheel (3). Note: If necessary, Use a prybar against Tooling (A) to remove the flywheel (3) from the crankshaft.
Use a hammer and a punch in order to remove ring gear (5) from flywheel (3). Installation Procedure

Raise the temperature of new ring gear (5). Install the ring gear on flywheel (3). Ensure that the chamfer of the gear teeth will be toward the pinion of the starting motor.
Install Tooling (B) in the end of the crankshaft.
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to flywheel (3). The weight of flywheel (3) is approximately 170 kg (375 lb).
Lift the flywheel into position onto Tooling (B). Ensure that the mark on the flywheel is aligned with the mark on the crankshaft.
Apply clean engine oil to the threads of bolts (4). Install bolts (4).
Remove Tooling (A) and Tooling (B). Install remaining bolts (4). Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 1150 60 N m (848 44 lb ft).
