This Program must be administered either before or after failure.In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS43642" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code.If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

PROBLEM
The existing 255-5544 Tube used in 179-9333 and 185-5775 Aftercooler Groups can fail on certain 3612, 3616, C280-12 and C280-16 Marine Engines. If the existing water lines are not updated a leak may result.

PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Perform all steps necessary to prepare the engine for safely
replacing the aftercooler water piping.
1) Remove the 255-5544 Tube, 282-2462 Bracket Assembly, 131-5499 Flange, 263-1809 Hump Hose, 255-5543 Tube, and all related mounting hardware.
Keep all the 108-6170 Clamps for reuse. The forward mounted 152-3727 Bracket will not be reused.

2) Install the 6V-5504 O-ring Seal onto the 379-1581 Elbow and install the elbow using four 0S-1571 Bolts with four 3V-3308 Washers.
3) Install the 7C-7534 Hose and four 8T-4985 Clamps.

4) Install the 379-1583 Bracket using three 0L-1143 Bolts, three 3V-3308 Washers, and three 6W-6672 Spacers. Refer to Image1.5.1 for the location on left front aftercooler cover.

5) Install the 6V-5066 O-ring Seal and 110-0096 Ring onto the 369-6019 Tube.
6) Install the straight end of the tube into the aftercooler elbow and 90 degree elbow end into the hose at the front of aftercooler.

7) Reinstall the 108-6170 Clamps at rear of tube using existing hardware.

8) Install the 108-6170 Clamps using four 0T-0065 Bolt, four 3V-3308 Washers, and four 7C-9560 Spacers.
9) Position the 7C-7534 Hose evenly between cast elbow and tube at front of aftercooler.
10) Tighten the four 8T-4985 Clamps securing hose to elbow and tube.
